Combatting Workplace Violence: Risk Management Strategies for Employers
Nearly 2 million Americans are victims of workplace violence each year. These incidents can range from minor disruptions to catastrophic events. This webinar will address areas of legal exposure for employers, as well as best practices to minimize risk and mitigate the deleterious effects of even minor incidents of workplace violence, including the following:
- Hiring practices and other preventative measures;
- Permissible uses of arrest and conviction records in employment decisions;
- Essential elements of a workplace violence prevention policy and other critical workplace policies to include in an employee handbook;
- Techniques and strategies for handling employee conflict in an employee handbook;
- Exposure, compliance, recordkeeping and reporting under the OSH Act and related regulations; and
- Handling an OSHA workplace investigation.
