September signifies that school is back in session. Pencils are sharpened, while homework is spread across the kitchen table. The start of a school year also is a common time for students to get their first cellphone. In fact, a recent U.S. Cellular survey found that on average, children receive their first cellphone at age 11. U.S. Cellular associates will help students and families prepare for the school year during a free Device Workshop. Attendees will learn how to use their devices, such as an iPad Air 2, iPhone 6s or a Samsung Galaxy S7, to study for the next test, look up information or practice a foreign language. Guests don’t have to be U.S. Cellular customers to attend. “Our associates are available to show parents and kids how to use a smartphone or tablet to enhance and simplify learning,” said Mike Adams, U.S. Cellular’s director of sales for Nebraska and Iowa. “Our high-quality nationwide network connects students to the information they need to succeed in school.” You may call 308-236-2075 for more information or to RSVP.
