Name: Hernia Educational Event & Free Screenings
Date: October 30, 2019
Time: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
A hernia is a condition where a person has part of their organ protruding through an opening in the surrounding muscle wall. It is estimated that thousands of Americans have untreated and undiagnosed hernias. If left untreated, hernias can cause unnecessary pain and/or lead to further health problems.
To combat this problem, a free educational event is being offered for attendees to learn about the signs and symptoms of hernias, the importance of early detection, and the treatment options available at Kearney Regional Medical Center, including robotic surgery.

Attendees will meet our team of board-certified general surgeons while enjoying light refreshments in a casual atmosphere. Physicians will answer questions about surgical and non-surgical options for hernia repair, including associated risks and benefits. They will also showcase Kearney Regional's new DaVinci Xi surgical system and have a Q&A session about robotic surgery.
