KEARNEY, NE – January 14, 2013 – The Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity will hold its Appreciation Dinner and Annual Meeting on February 12, 2013 at 6p.m. The dinner and meeting is hosted by the Habitat Board of Directors and will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 4511 6th Ave., Kearney. The Kearney Area Habitat will recognize the volunteers and donors who made the completion of three home builds possible this past year – for a total of 64 homes.
The Kearney Area Habitat welcomes community members from the Kearney area to join in the dinner and meeting celebrating the success of the 2012 build season. Board members will be in attendance to discuss the goals and vision for the 2013 building season; including the slated three builds for the upcoming year. In addition, Kay Payne will be presenting a slide show on the Kearney Habitat’s build trip to Haiti.
Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity- The Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity has been helping families in need of affordable housing since 1992. Habitat is an international non-profit Christian housing ministry working in partnership with low income families to improve the conditions in which they are forced to live. At the end of the 2010 building season, Habitat has completed the construction of 58 homes in the Kearney area.
