Runners will light up the night on to raise awareness and funds for mental health. The Light up the Night 5K, organized by CHI Health Richard Young Behavioral Health Center, encourages participants to wear brightly colored shirts to raise awareness of mental illness. Participants receive glow sticks for the run and a DJ plays music throughout the event, designed to be fun for all ages. Registration begins at 7 p.m. and the run/walk begins at 8 p.m. Registration is $20. Proceeds of the 5K will be given to CHI Health Good Samaritan Foundation for Richard Young and NAMI. Medals will be awarded to the fastest two participants in each age bracket.
