The Nebraska Legislature's Venture Development and Entrepreneurship Task Force plans to host a town hall meeting in Kearney at Ramada Inn, July 28th from 1:30-3:30pm. The task force, made up of state senators; Dan Watermeier of Syracuse; Matt Williams of Gothenburg; Paul Schumacher of Columbus; Al Davis of Hyannis, John Stiner of Gering; and Matt Kolterman of Seward, is charged to examine and review the role entrepreneurship and innovation play in Nebraska's economy.
In consultation with Invest Nebraska, the task force will develop statewide strategic plan to take an inventory of existing state and locally sponsored entrepreneur and small-business programs; do an economic impact analysis of the exisitng Nebraska Business Innovation Act programs;do an overview of entrepreneurial and innovative best practices from other states; and come up with specific policy recommendations to consider the next legislative session.
