Nebraska Now: Michael James, Quilts & Photographs January 12 – April 7, 2019 In his most recent body of work, Michael James focuses on the immersive colors, textures, and feel of India, looking to its “vernacular architecture” and the intricacies of the buildings, alleys, and courtyards. A leader in the art quilt movement of the 1970s, James is the Chair and Ardis James Professor of Textiles in Merchandising and Fashion Design at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
