Senior College invites you to join Dr. Charlie Bicak as he shares why quality, accessible in-person health care is essential for rural community survival. Workforce shortages have been pervasive across all clinical professional fields. UNK and UNMC partnered to address these shortages by initiating nursing programs on the UNK campus in 1991. Throughout the years the nursing programs were greatly expanded, followed by the delivery of several allied health programs in 2015. The Rural Health Education Building, slated to open in 2026 will, for the first time, offer Medicine, Pharmacy and Public Health. This partnership represents the largest rural clinical professional preparation model of its kind in the nation. Lecture open to Senior College members and guests.
