Founded in 1877, The Tile Club was a group of prominent artists (Winslow Homer, William Merritt Chase, Augustus Saint-Gaudens, Edwin Austin Abbey, J. Alden Weir, and John H. Twachtman) who met weekly to paint eight-by-eight ceramic tiles, smoke cigars and drink whiskey. Come learn the stories about their club life, and their contributions to the decorative and plein arts of the late 19th Century.
