The Kearney Visitors Bureau has a position available at a fun, fast-paced office. Candidate should be a self-motivated and organized individual with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional computer knowledge and other general administrative skills. Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing convention and welcome center staff schedules, as well as coordinating necessary convention services. Will create and maintain strong working relationships with convention organizers, area lodging properties, and office staff.
Group/Convention Specialist
Work with meeting planners to coordinate convention services for upcoming event
Coordinate and schedule convention hostesses
Maintain inventory for conventions
Prepare name badges
Schedule Color guards and City Dignitary for convention groups
Maintain groups in the convention database
Work conventions as needed
Assist Convention Sales Manager
Assist with Motorcoach tour groups
Visitor Services Specialist
Greet guests and assist with information and questions, as needed
Maintain brochures in the welcome center
Fulfill visitor brochure requests from various sources
Answer phone calls and designate or help visitors
Deliver printed material to hotel and other locations as needed
Manage office inventory
Administrative Duties
Prepare monthly board meeting packets
Take minutes at each board meeting
Assist the Director and staff as needed
Applicants should be able to lift 20lbs and have a valid drivers license.
