SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Design Center Support actively assists the Design Center Sales Representatives or Kitchen & Bath Sales/Representatives, customers and contractors in the design and sale of cabinet and countertop sales for the kitchen/bath and other project needs.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide the highest level of service to all customers ensuring each customer is greeted and welcomed to the Design Center.
- Maintain appropriate business contact with customers and employees by person, phone, email, fax, etc.
- Provide administrative support for the Design Center Sales Representatives or Kitchen & Bath Sales/Representatives.
- Assist in the design and drawing of kitchen/bath/other floor plans on the computer system using specified company software.
- Assist in designing, quoting and managing the sale/ordering process for all kitchen, bath, cabinet and countertop projects as well as other design center products, upgrades or accessories that will add value and improve the customer’s expectations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on design center products to include design trends, space planning, technical specifications, proper installation, product pricing, and new/upcoming products on the market.
- Provides customers with information on additional items related to product purchases or directs the customer to other Team Members or departments to complete their projects. (i.e.: appliances, flooring, lighting)
- Consult with the customer and/or contractor concerning interior design, room layouts, etc.
- Conduct showroom tours of the Design Center.
- Maintain knowledge of vendors, vendor books, and vendor pricing.
- Follow up on notes and customer information concerns resolving questions and concerns in a timely manner.
- Communicate product problems in your area concerning supply, quality, or new items that we need to stock to the Manager and Division Manager.
- Ensure department is properly designed, stocked and housekeeping is maintained.
- Merchandise side counters and end caps and advertising promotions as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- Kitchen and bath design/sales preferred but not required
- CAD and/or 20/20 design program knowledge preferred but not required
- Building industry knowledge preferred.
EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMALTRAINING:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
- Sales skill training
