Plumbing & Electrical Sales

About the Role:

The Plumbing & Electrical Sales position is focused on delivering exceptional customer service while driving sales of plumbing and electrical products within a retail environment. The successful candidate will serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers, helping them select the right products to meet their needs and providing expert advice on product features and applications. This role requires a strong understanding of plumbing and electrical supplies, enabling the sales associate to effectively communicate technical information and troubleshoot customer inquiries. The ultimate goal is to enhance customer satisfaction, increase sales revenue, and contribute to the overall success of the store. Additionally, the role involves maintaining product displays, managing inventory, and collaborating with team members to ensure a seamless shopping experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous retail sales experience, preferably in plumbing, electrical, or related hardware products.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical products and their applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
• Customer service training or experience in a technical retail environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist customers in selecting plumbing and electrical products by understanding their needs and providing expert guidance.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product features, specifications, and industry trends to offer accurate information.
• Process sales transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and adherence to store policies.
• Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and reporting discrepancies.
• Collaborate with team members and management to achieve sales targets and maintain a clean, organized sales floor.

Skills:

In this role, strong communication skills are essential for understanding customer needs and explaining complex product information clearly and effectively. Technical knowledge of plumbing and electrical products allows the sales associate to provide accurate recommendations and troubleshoot customer questions, enhancing trust and satisfaction. Sales skills are applied daily to identify opportunities, upsell products, and close transactions efficiently. Organizational skills help maintain inventory accuracy and ensure the sales floor is well-stocked and visually appealing. Additionally, teamwork and adaptability are important as the associate collaborates with colleagues and adjusts to changing store priorities and customer demands.

Hours: Hours will vary to cover store hours.

             Builders is open Monday - Friday from 7am to 6pm and Saturday from 8am to 4pm.  No Sundays!
