Kerri Ristine receives Good Samaritan Caring Kind Award

Kearney - Kerri Ristine was recently announced as CHI Health Good Samaritan's 2020 Caring Kind Award winner. Ristine, radiation therapist in the hospital's cancer center, was presented with the award by Good Samaritan President Michael Schnieders.

Good Samaritan selects one employee, each year, for the honor of representing the hospital at the Nebraska Hospital Association Annual Convention. Due to social distancing guidelines, this year's convention will be held virtually.

According to Schnieders, recipients of this prestigious award have gone above and beyond the call of duty to demonstrate compassion for patients, cooperation with co-workers and dedication to excellence in their job responsibilities.

"Each year we-family, friends and co-workers gather to celebrate one health care employee who is the embodiment of what it mean to be a true good Samaritan," says Schnieders.

Ristine's nomination, written by a co-worker, reads, "Kerri exemplifies caring, compassion, teamwork and service excellence in all that she does. Over and over again, patients in the cancer center tell me she is their favorite therapist. She is the ultimate employee always willing to do whatever she can to help out and whatever it takes to give each patient the best possible care. CHI Health Good Samaritan is very lucky to have people like Kerri on our staff."

With its beginning in 1979, the Nebraska Hospital Association has paid tribute to Nebraska's most caring and dedicated health care employees by presenting them with The Caring Kind award.
