The Miss Kearney Crane Festival Pageant will be held in Kearney on September 13, 2014 at the Merryman Performing Arts Center.
The Crane Festival Pageant is a preliminary pageant to the Miss Nebraska and Miss America Organization. The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. This assistance is not just for the handful of young women who become Miss America, but is available to the over 12,000 young women who compete in the state and local competitions as well.
The goal of Kearney’s local pageant is to find a young woman who is a positive role model to the young adults of our community. To earn this title, contestants will have to compete in interview, on stage question, talent, and evening gown. They are also judged on community service and scholastic achievement. We are looking for women who positively represent Kearney at local events and community functions, and then take community achievements to the state level. We hope to produce poised and sophisticated young women who encourage involvement in the Kearney Area Community.
The Pageant will crown a Miss Crane Festival and a Miss Crane Festival’s Outstanding Teen. The day will start with rehearsals and preliminary competitions for the Final Pageant which is open to the public and begins at 4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is a great first time pageant with no experience necessary. For more information on competing in the Pageant or for tickets to attend, please contact Shanna Schulte at sschulte@kearneycoc.org.
