Job Description or Duties: Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on campus heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment. Maintain boilers, chillers, and associated equipment on campus. Special project work assignments and after hour emergency calls.
Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC and mechanical equipment including belt changes, lubrication of equipment, cleaning, system analysis, air filter changes, coil cleaning, etc. Within mechanical rooms.
Request parts and materials from supervisor. Complete work order tickets, materials/services request forms, leave request forms, inspection reports, log sheets, and other required paperwork.
Assist with preventive maintenance and repair of high-pressure steam boilers, chillers, utility distribution systems, and utility equipment.
May respond to calls from supervisor or facilities service desk dispatcher regarding environmental concerns and correct problems.
Maintain filter inventory adequate to needs.
Steam trap testing and repair.
Assist with pipe fitting work as needed.
Assists in the training of others as needed in all areas.
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, shop drawings, and schematics.
Must be able to work independently, with little supervision.
Must perform all work in a safe and professional manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Primary hours will be Monday-Friday and occasionally covering the operator shift schedule.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years working on mechanical equipment
Valid motor vehicle operator's license
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years experience working on mechanical equipment
