Fire Engineer

The City of Kearney is recruiting for the position of Fire Engineer.
 
High school diploma or GED plus two years as a firefighter, including one year as a fire pump operator and fire apparatus driver; must possess a valid Nebraska driver’s license; must possess State of Nebraska certification as a Firefighter I.  Must complete Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator, ARFF and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification within one year of employment maintaining active status with the State of Nebraska thereafter.  A 30-minute residency response time is required.
 
Hourly pay range is $21.60 - $31.38 DOQ.  Deadline is Thursday, September 25, 2025.
